Management and Data Science
- Proposed and championed the integration of advanced Business Intelligence (BI) tools to enhance
data-driven decision-making across the organization - Conducted comprehensive evaluations of various BI platforms, ensuring selection of the most suitable
tool aligned with business needs and goals - Designed and implemented robust ETL pipelines, facilitating seamless data extraction, transformation,
and loading processes to create reliable data pools - Developed and presented insightful metrics and dashboards to senior leadership, enabling informed
strategic planning and operational improvements - Achieved significant organizational impact, contributing to a measurable increase in revenue and
substantial growth in membership through data-driven strategies - Led regular brown bag lunch sessions and provided ongoing mentorship to staff, fostering a culture of
continuous learning and professional development within the team
Database Administration
- Created and maintained multiple data models and documented cross system integration using MySQL
workbench ERD in order to maintain the highest standards of data integrity - Migrated all legacy databases to AWS (RDS and EC2) facilitating a reduction in on-prem costs, including moving to AWS CloudEndure for point-in-time recovery as well as migrating from Oracle/Windows to Oracle/AWS/RedHat/EC2 while significantly reducing licensing cost by hundreds of thousand of dollars per year
- Installed and configured Attunity replication from Oracle to MySQL, in conjunction with writing database triggers paving the way for application migration from Oracle (Legacy) to MySQL
- Built Database Monitoring tools (Oracle/MySQL), to monitor DB performance as well as OS side
monitoring to complement existing CloudWatch monitoring - Wrote replication subsystem (C++ / TCP sockets) to complement 3rd party replication
- Migrated all systems using ESRI/Windows to QGIS/RedHat/Postgres
TIAA
TIAA/CREF – Trading Systems 10/2013 – 03/2016
Senior Database Engineer
- Migrated Multiple Oracle databases to four (4) node Exadata(x4-2)
- Participated in quarterly DR exercises using Dataguard broker
- Engineering support for three Oracle applications, with UAT and Prod databases running on Oracle RAC and supporting another two node RAC with app running on Veritas VCS
- Migrating OEM agents and monitoring to OEM 12C (includes agent install on Solaris and Linux)
- Infrastructure DBA. Point person for infrastructure/trading databases
- Directly Supported Risk Management system (50 TB system running on 12 core Linux server)
- Directly supported three(3) node RAC cluster that was the firm’s trading systems
- Day to day support of application groups – query tuning, identifying inefficient queries via OEM grid and CLI scripts
CBS Interactive
11/2011 – 10/2013
Manager of Database Engineering
- Imbedded within the CBS Ad Campaign team for direct DB support
- Architected and implemented a private database cloud to consolidate 66 RAC clusters onto multi-node RAC, running OEL5 on Dell and 3PAR. Total system size exceeded 50TB. All systems on all sites ran ASM. Migrated to 3PAR systems to Hitachi via ASM rebalance
- Migrated a 500GB, 400+ table database from Sybase to Oracle 11.2 on a three (3) node RAC cluster,
running ASM on RHL5. - Three node RAC was reconfigured to support CBS Sports, with one node supporting AD engine, the other node supporting CBS Sports, with third node as a swing node when needed parallelism
- Wrote utilities (C++) to partition data files.
- Conduct “Brown Bag Lunch” seminars for the development team. Discussions have included CBO
optimization, stats collection, Java procedures, Oracle data types
Tata Telecom
12/2010 -01/2012
Senior Database Engineer
- Worked on green-field project (Cisco Telepresence)
- Benchmarked database performance, and determined performance and scalability issues with prototypes
- Creation and maintenance of all VmWare VM’s in support of above
- System designed with MySQL 5.5, running on VmWare ESX/VMotion
DoD (Ft. Monmouth)
03/2010 – 12/2010
Senior Database Engineer
Secret Clearance
- Migrated/Re-Architected the design to a single schema using Oracle VPD. This re-architecture allowed
the design to scale to 330 bases (the old design was a schema for every Army base) - Supported 10 Active Army bases – Wrote migration scripts using SQL*Loader and PL/SQL. Database
stored LOB/BLOB data - Configured RMAN backups on production database (changed from full daily to incremental)
- Oracle list partitioning with LOB data, using table compression and lob compression
- Supported addition of storage, storage groups to Oracle ASM running on Sun StorageTek

Technical Director
- Technology Director reporting directly to the VP of engineering
- Designed an 8 Node, “lights out” system with redundant everything, and installed at customer sites (AT&T, CNC, British Telecom, JCOM)
- Technical lead for two major projects:
○ Consolidation onto standard cluster platform
○ Enterprise migration from Sun Solaris to Sun Solaris x86 - Responsible for all aspects of system security, including OS hardening, patch installations, user and
group creation, ssh key. - Wrote provisioning tool (implemented at all customer sites/demos) to provision data.
- Wrote utilities to migrate databases from Oracle 8.1.7.3 to 10.2.0.4.
